Bobby Mahoney And The Seventh Son’s self-titled album is out now and available for streaming on Spotify. The eponymous LP features a great collection of tracks, including the tune from this week’s Jersey Rock Video of the Week.

Local punk band Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son announced today ticket presales for their upcoming tour, including a $50 “no meet and greet” option which will prevent the band from engaging in any awkward small talk with the purchaser.

Two Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Vini Lopez of the E Street Band and Ricky Byrd of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, rocked the Langosta with Springsteen and Jett classics with the help of Eddie Testa, Jarod Clemons, Joe Rapolla, Zack Sandler and the Monmouth University Blue Hawk Records band.

[Bon Jovi] had an ear-to-ear smile for two songs. 

The members of Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son from East Brunswick were also smiling on Sunday. They opened the show with a torrent of rock ‘n’ roll sizzle and big stage appeal.

Whether opening for Bon Jovi in front of 20,000 people or rockin’ with a stacked lineup of local greats, Bobby Mahoney & the Seventh Son are as comfortable on stage as most people are in their lounge chairs.

On behalf of Seventh Son drummer James McIntosh, guitarist Andrew Saul, and bassist Jon Chang-Soon, Mahoney shared the thrill of what has been his best year, along with plans for the rest of it. Enjoy!

With their new EP, Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son make sure to bring all of their past experiences together to make an enjoyable ride full of consistently catchy music. And it doesn’t seem like they are at all shy about where they come from.  From the minute the first chorus kicks in on the opener “Empty Passenger Seats,” you can hear The Menzingers and The Gaslight Anthem bleeding through. The former even gets a nice little callout in “Lorraine,” specifically referencing their 2012 release On the Impossible Past. 

A band whose members included a current University student Zachary Sandler and University alumnus Jonathan Chang-Soon opened for Jon Bon Jovi at the Prudential Center leg of his “This House is Not for Sale” tour on Sunday, April 8.
